The campaign is in full swing, mud slinging and all...oops, there goes a mud ball now...

The most entertaining exploit at COM this semester is the Academic senate “referendum”. Faculty members are scurrying about distributing “VOTE YES” and “VOTE NO” campaign materials in faculty mailboxes and on the faculty listserv.

Insults, accusations and name calling are bandied about like candy on Halloween. Somewhere underneath all the negative hit pieces lays the truth. Help us uncover the truth.

It’s been reported that the “VOTE YES” side pulled campaign material out of faculty mailboxes and affixed red stickers with another message on top and then reinserted them into the mail boxes before getting nabbed in the act.

Pulling mail out of mailboxes? My gosh, who are we to trust?

The “VOTE YES” side accuses the other of being in bed with the administration, and the “VOTE NO” side maintains it is time to move on from a contentious style that has dominated the past three years of faculty heel dragging on budget development, program review and other 10+1 faculty rights.

Who are we to believe?
