Oanh Huynh brought much needed order to the Echo Times as the office manager in 2003.

Oanh Huynh, former College of Marin student and office manager for the Echo Times, died Nov. 15 following a sudden and brief illness. She was 21.
Ms. Huynh, recently a student at Christian Life International Bible College in Novato, joined the Echo Times in March, 2003 and turned a chaotic office into a well-organized oasis of order, said faculty advisor Michael Dougan.
"She was a gift to all of us, not only for her terrific management of student newspaper operations but for her open heart, her love of life and the joy she brought into the room,'' said Dougan. "Oanh was truly special. Her death has broken the hearts of everyone who knew her."
Joshua Samuels, Echo Times layout editor and a friend of Huynh's, said simply: "She was an angel."
During her two years at COM, Huynh, a San Rafael native, was a member of Alpha Gamma Sigma, the student honor society.
She had recently announced that she would return to the Kentfield campus in the Spring 2006 semester to complete her secular studies.
Ms. Huynh was scheduled to graduate from the Bible College next month. While enrolled there, she made missionary trips to Russia, Japan and the Philippines.
Ms. Huynh is survived by her mother, Sen Hong Le of San Rafael; her father, Binh Huynh, of Orange County; three sisters - Uyen Luong of San Jose and Vy Huynh and Nini Huynh of San Rafael - and one nephew, Joseph Luong of San Jose.
A memorial service was held last weekend at the New Life Christian Center in Novato.
