Many students come to College of Marin with the intention of transferring to a four-year institution. However, when the time comes, many students find that they have not fulfilled the necessary requirements. This year, the COM Transfer Center is taking a proactive role in giving students the information and support they need to transfer successfully.
The Center is located in Room 202 of the Student Services Building, where Stacey Kamp greets students and helps them with their questions. Here, students can find information regarding transfer deadlines and workshops, as well as a calendar of events. Students can also use Transfer Center computers for researching schools, writing statements and filing applications online.
"It's better for students to file online here at the transfer center so I can help them with their applications," said Kamp, adding that online filing is also preferred by most schools, since it is a faster, less costly method.
Students are advised to contact the Transfer Center for details on all upcoming workshops and events.
